How will we do group rides? So, first off I know this is hard to imagine but we still have ten more days to the actual kickoff of BaseCamp! Always fun getting everyone into the Facebook group but it does create this early "holding pattern". Now, next week is a practice and testing week so things will start moving, but our first official group workout is on December 2.
With that said, lets talk about how. We do our group workouts on Tuesday, Thursday, and occasionally Saturday. These are conducted in two ways (you choose which you do). The main way is we do full public workouts that are listed on Zwift events. These are easy to execute; all you need to do is join and pedal, and the group system will do the rest. Liv Cycling is sponsoring our group rides on Zwift, so they are open to others, which means the public workouts tend to be big groups with lots of group energy. I personally like the big groups the best. For the first four-week cycle, these workouts will be scheduled at 7:00 a.m. PST and 3:00 p.m. PST. You can join these from Zwift events (typically they post about a week in advance). The video below will teach you how.
The second way we will do group workouts is small group meetups. I will post more on these later with the schedule. Meetups are great; they tend to be smaller and private, but they do take a little more knowledge on how to sign up and load your workout (don't worry, we'll teach you). We start group meetups on or after December 7.
