Cycling didn’t feature a great deal in my life until my mid 20s, but when it came along, it soon steered my life towards one of adventure and growth. Having entered a 300-mile charity cycling event with absolutely no clue about size or type of bikes, kit, chamois (I thought that was only something you cleaned windows with!), etc., it soon became apparent that this didn't matter too much, because the warmth and shared passion of the people I met along the way was infectious. It carried me along, despite being new, seemingly clueless, and having a bike two sizes too big. It also lit the fire in my belly to discover more.

This soon led me on to racing. With no idea where to start, the local governing body linked me up with a nearby coach here in the UK, and the rest, as they say, was history. With my coache's knowledgeable and patient guidance, and in later years expert and invaluable coaching from Tim Cusick, I enjoyed an incredibly enjoyable and varied racing career, spanning from local club races to the brutal yet enigmatic European Spring Classics to Women's World Tour stage races.

The journey has been quite simply amazing. The process of continual improvement, building mental resilience, physical growth. The travel, the people, the unique experiences, and the doors that all of these have opened. It's been an unreal ride and one that is yet to continue in the form of coaching.

I've recently closed the chapter on professional racing to enjoy family life with my husband and toddler here in the UK. I currently work in a Giant/Liv bike store, where I'm passionate about breaking down barriers for those who find cycling environments imposing, especially in the bike fit department. I'm proud to be one of the few female bike fitters in the UK.

That fire for cycling very much still burns, so to now be in a position to help guide athletes along their own exciting path of discovery, growth, and achievement is a real privilege.
