Calculate threshold heart rate
Once you have completed your FTP test, here's how to determine your heart rate threshold.
Open your FTP test workout in TrainingPeaks.
In the lower right corner (the peaks area), click on the small heart icon to see your heart rate peaks.
Select the peak 12 minutes. This number is your threshold heart rate.
The next step is to record your new heart rate in TrainingPeaks. Here's how:
Open your TrainingPeaks account settings and scroll down to the zones section.
Find the bicycle heart rate section.
Enter the 12-minute peak heart rate number determined above as your threshold heart rate (our system does not use max or resting heart rate values).
Under the "Auto Calculation" heading, select Lactate Threshold as the type and Andy Coggan as the method.
Click Calculate.
Click Save and Close on the settings window.
