He loves exploring answers to the question of why we ride, and he loves talking about the joy of competition, pushing limits, and the psychological value of doing hard, physical things. He's coached the Shippensburg University Cycling Club for over fifteen years.

KATHY WATTS
Elite Coach
Cycling has been in Kathy's blood since she was little. Her first two-wheeler was a used blue bike with fenders and fat tires (this was before mountain bikes!). Her first ten-speed bike in eighth grade was an orange Schwinn Varsity that her parents gave her for Christmas. That bike took her everywhere and set the stage for a lifetime love of cycling, exploring, and adventure.

TINA HART
Elite Coach
Tina spent years as a daily bike commuter before discovering the joy of using her bike to explore, adventure, and compete. She loves racing hard but also values a good ride with friends or a long solo pedal. DEANNA DUKE
Elite Coach
Deanna's foray into cycling began at the ripe age of four years old, when she mistakenly took her brother's Big Wheel present at Christmas as her own (blame her parents for not labeling toys). In college, her other brother introduced her to road cycling, and thus continued her love affair with cycling, this time on two wheels. Now living in a rural area in the Cascade Mountains of Central Washington, Deanna focuses her training and coaching on the hundreds of miles of gravel forest service roads and rural roads at her doorstep. You can generally find her leading group rides across mountains, rivers, and rutted roads while dodging suicidal deer, chipmunks, and sometimes black bears. (Pro tip: water bottle cages double as great carriers for bear spray.)

LIZ INGLESE
Elite Coach
Liz's love for sports is why she coaches athletes, lives with athletes, dresses like an athlete, and eats like an athlete. "Cycling is life!" It has not always been about cycling for her; she played tennis for the University of Arizona, ran various marathons, participated in numerous triathlons, and scaled mountains. However, the world of performance as a cyclist and the philosophy of Basecamp to create unique athletes has captured her commitment in making a difference with others.
