Brendan's story: Stetina's Paydirt

BaseCamp athlete Brendan John shared his experience at the 2025 Stetina's Paydirt bike race in Nevada.

Fun event with very rough gravel. Brother rode mtb, which was better choice than gravel with 650 tires. It is segment format with first segment almost 18 miles. Went well and 2nd segment goes from segment to singletrack. Stayed pretty competitive, and single track was a blast. 3rd segment was a mix of singletrack with crazy tight turns with washout. Fell twice very hard and bruised ribs bad. Went easy not caring about finish position. Fun event but be prepared for some rough stuff. Good people made it a great day!
