BaseCamper Michelle Hildebrand shared her experience at the 2023 Unbound Gravel 200 event in Kansas.
My Unbound 200 day was really two days in one for me! The first half included a decent start, muddy long walk, multiple mechanical stops, dead legs (for 70+ miles!), and hot temps making me contemplate my why. Fortunately when the rains came in and temps dropped, my legs woke up and I was able to move up through the field hour by hour. I had bigger goals coming in, but just kept pedaling, eating, listening to good tunes, and never giving up. Looking back I'm proud of the effort and learned a few things during the leadup and race. Now to spend some time on my mountain bike leading into races in Leadville!
