Dana's story: Chico Wildflower Century

BaseCamp athlete Dana Filkowski shared her experience at the 2025 Chico Wildflower Century in California.

Unexpected cold and rain kept many from starting or finishing, but we prevailed with 101 miles and 6900 feet of climbing on the Mountain Flower route. Even had to navigate some downed power lines across a mountain road with the help of fire fighters and ride through a recent forest fire still smoking and being tended by CDF. But was a beautiful route and the sun finally came out as we finished.
