Jody's story: Pocopson Road Race

BaseCamp athlete Jody Twer shared her experience at the 2026 Pocopson Road Race in Pennsylvania.

First road race in eastern Pennsylvania in 10 years…and I love road racing! So much more fun and challenging, and a tad safer than crits. The women's master field was 45+….and I knew the one racer, she was a former sturdy girl and she's fast as lightning! The oldest in my field was 54….so my plan was to have fun and do best…and support women's racing.

The day was beautiful but hot…we are not used to 90 degree heat yet…a tad early for us. So I made sure to down plenty of mix and a couple enervite shots…..got me through without cramping! The downhills were a blast, the uphills misery but I’m very glad Coach Jill told me to go for it!
