Kim's story: Natchaug Epic

BaseCamp athlete Kim Pzegeo shared her experience at the 2025 Natchaug Epic bike race in Connecticut.

It was bittersweet to see BaseCamp come to a close this week, but the weekend was made extra special because I finally got to meet one of the coaches, Karen, who I often rode with during the Wednesday meetups!

The event itself was a last-minute decision, and I knew it would be a challenge with the fatigue from the final week of BaseCamp still in my legs. My goal was simple: have fun, get in a solid and challenging ride to kick off spring, and see how all that winter training paid off.

The weather was much better than last year, and I stayed true to my plan—had a great time out there and even landed in the top three for the timed section, all by riding on feel! Gravel continues to be such a fun way to build new skills, test myself in different ways, and step outside my comfort zone a little more each time.
