Maia's story: Rattling MTB Marathon

After 3 years at this race, I got the win in a course record and about 18 min faster than last year. I had goals of pushing the last two climbs, which became essential after getting knocked off the bike at the start and getting stuck behind some slow traffic on a long descent early on.

After a few weeks of just feeling a bit flat in training, my legs came through on race day. I took a little extra rest on race week and made sure to follow the Hexis guidance in the lead-up. A good day is never guaranteed, but you can do what you can to increase the odds…to steal a Tim-ism.
