BaseCamp athlete Melissa de Silva shared her experience at the 2026 Frost Heave Fondo in Maine.
This was an epic event! This was not the typical gravel ride! First, it was April in Maine! Second, it was created by mountain bikers. Enough said! There was road, gravel, crushed rocks, peanut butter mud, granite rocks, and streams to cross! This was absolutely a blast and great way to get ready for just about any of my following events, as there was a bit of everything. If you go next year, be sure to ask about the dusty furnace!
