Recipe: Quick and Easy Spiced Apple Oat Bites

Fuel your autumn miles with something homemade and ride-ready! These apple oat bites are high in carbs, low in fat, and easy to carry: perfect for cool-weather rides or pre-ride fuel.

Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats ½ cup vanilla protein powder
2 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 medium apple, grated (with peel)
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine oats, protein powder, flaxseed, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Stir in grated apple, applesauce, honey, vanilla extract, and nuts. Mix until sticky.
Form into 1-inch balls (about 2 tbsp each).
Optional: Bake at 350° F (175° C) for 8–10 minutes for a firmer texture (you can skip to the next step for no-bake bites).
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to a month.
