Stacey's story: Arctic MTB No. 3

BaseCamp athlete Stacey Kolstad shared her experience at the 2026 Arctic MTB No. 3 bike race in Alaska.

Prepared for this race by pre-riding the course.

The MTB course was single track super rooty sections mixed with open cross-country trails. Rode right past a massive moose and didn't realize it until after passing him, as I heard him munching away. No bears seen, so that's a plus.

The weather was a stunning Alaska hot summer day.

Felt better than expected after being off the bike for 4 days.
