Stacey's story: Arctic MTB XCO 4

BaseCamp athlete Stacey Kolstad shared her experience at the 2026 Arctic Bicycle Club MTB XCO 4 bike race in Alaska.

Rain all night and all day, then an hour before the race the sun came out! Wet, slippery, technical mtb course. No falls, no injuries, so a great evening race!

The weather was so cold and windy for the pre-ride, then the sun came out and woah it got warm (Alaskan warm). I dressed like a mullet! Summer vest on top and winter pants and boots.
