Sue's Story: The Washington Jefferson Ride

BaseCamp group coaching member Sue Hageman shared her experience at the 2024 Washington Jefferson Ride.

We rode the The 2024 Washington Jefferson Ride ~ 4 County Edition ride today. Fun early season ride. It was not a timed ride. It was awesome riding with our gravel family after a long winter. A cold 29 degrees to start!! First time I ever had to scrap ice off bike after traveling early in morning with fog & a little frost! 43 mile bike ride. Lots of fun roller coaster hills. I had no issues with them! Yippee! Lots of MMR roads. One pretty sketchy! Rode well, felt great. Took a good 30 minutes to warm up. The last 15 miles was into a good KS headwind. Rode with 3 friends who were struggling and for various tech issues lost their routes on Garmin. So we rode with them and made sure we all got back. Trying to decide what and how long to ride tomorrow. Here's to a great riding season for us all!! BaseCamp keeps me motivated and stronger every year!!!
