NerdCast: Measuring Aerobic Capacity Development During Base Training

Base training is where aerobic capacity is built, but it is also where athletes struggle most with measurement. Aerobic adaptations occur slowly and often without obvious sensations of improvement. Legs may not feel stronger, pace may not change, and workouts can feel repetitive. This creates a temptation to over analyze individual sessions or chase short term signals that do not reflect true physiological change.
